Tarn Taran Breaking News: Wanted Accused Killed in Exchange of Fire with AGTF and Tarn Taran Police A major encounter has been reported from Tarn Taran, Punjab, where an accused wanted in a case involving firing on a police officer died after an exchange of fire with a joint team of the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and CIA Staff, Tarn Taran. According to the police, the operation was carried out today based on specific information near Village Baath, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadar Tarn Taran. The police team was reportedly searching for Kashmir Singh alias Poongi, son of Mangal Singh, a resident of Muradpura. He was wanted in a case registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran in connection with firing on a police officer. During the operation, Kashmir Singh was spotted along with Gursewak Singh, son of Jaspal Singh, a resident of Naurangabad. Police said that Kashmir Singh opened fire at the police team, following which an exchange of fire took place. Kashmir Singh sustained two gunshot injuries to his legs, while Gursewak Singh suffered a gunshot injury to his shoulder. Both injured persons were immediately taken to hospital for treatment. However, Kashmir Singh later succumbed to his injuries. Police said that a Zigana pistol was recovered from Kashmir Singh, while a .30-bore pistol was recovered from Gursewak Singh. The incident has once again brought attention to the ongoing police action against wanted accused and gang-related crime in Punjab.
