Unfortunately the rapeseed is doing exactly what I already feared: few pod clusters, not filled, cold spring. If you can see through the crop stand, that's not a good sign. We'll see what it yields, but it's not bringing much joy — a shame, especially now that the price has finally gone up. The sunflowers are surprising: the plants are unbelievably small, but the crop stand is nicely homogeneous and the heads are large. And then the fact of the year — all the sunflowers are pointing exactly east. Why? Because after flowering they no longer follow the sun, but orient themselves permanently to the east — so that the heads are the first to be hit by the sun in the morning, warm up faster, and the pollen becomes attractive to insects earlier. Nature is just absurd. The oats are ripe and look great — no fungicide, no growth regulator, and still barely any lodging. That's what we'll tackle next. The peas need another week. Then the big moment: two new John Deere 6R 250s are taken over and the S7 850 is picked up. Plus an honest assessment: buying, renting, or leasing — what really matters is the price per hectare, not the financing method.
