Waves of Thunderstorms All Day in Nebraska — April 9, 2026

A warm sunrise opens April 9, 2026 as the first round of heavy thunderstorms moves into eastern Nebraska. Throughout the morning and afternoon, waves of rain and thunder roll through the area, each storm revealing new layers of structure. Later in the afternoon, low clouds lift just enough to reveal a spectacular shelf cloud on a passing storm. As it fades into the distance, a severe thunderstorm drops in from the north with another broken shelf cloud and a burst of heavy rain. In its wake, multiple roll clouds sweep overhead, each one bringing another round of rain. As the cold front pushes through, the sky boils with ominous texture and briefly glows at sunset.
