Welcome to Day 5 of Your Daily Plumbline.
Today's word is:
PRACTICE.
This week we've been establishing a rhythm:
ABIDE → UNDERSTAND → EXAMINE → PRACTICE
Yesterday, we turned the plumbline inward through personal reflection and private journaling.
Today, we take another important step:
Truth must become obedience.
James 1:22 says:
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
— James 1:22, NKJV
It is possible to hear truth, underline it, journal about it, agree with it—and still never allow it to change the way we live.
That's not the formation we're pursuing in The Plumbline.
Today's Focus — PRACTICE
Today, work through your Module 1 Formation Assignment / Plumbline Practice and assignment worksheet.
And remember the distinction:
Your journal records the journey.
Your assignment practices what you're learning.
Don't approach the assignment as paperwork that needs to be completed.
Approach it as an opportunity to take what God has revealed this week and begin putting it into practice.
Carry this question before the Lord today:
“Lord, what is one thing You've shown me this week that now requires obedience?”
Maybe God has exposed an area of pride.
Maybe you've recognized casualness toward Him.
Maybe you've been reacting too quickly instead of slowing down to discern.
Maybe He's asking you to repent, listen, apologize, surrender, wait, or simply obey something He's already made clear.
You don't have to fix everything today.
Obey the light God has already given you.
This is the movement we're after:
Truth → Practice → Obedience → Character → Christlikeness
The goal isn't merely to become people who can talk about biblical discernment.
The goal is to become people whose lives are increasingly formed by truth and shaped into the likeness of Jesus.
Remember:
The plumbline is not the focus. The One holding it is. The goal is to love Him enough to welcome His measurement.
Today: PRACTICE.
Tomorrow we'll RESPOND—finishing what needs to be completed, engaging with our community, and preparing our hearts and questions as we move toward gathering together.
One day. One focus. Don't run ahead.

Intimacy before influence.
Character before gifting.
Formation before function.
Obedience before platform.
Fruit over visibility.
