Welcome aboard everyone, it’s Stick Man Steve, and today, I'm taking you through an epic journey in Hellesylt, Norway, on the breathtaking P&O Cruises Norwegian Fjords! 🌍 Today’s adventure starts off from Deck 12, Cabin 12.4065, where I talk you through our exciting plans for the day: a P&O excursion called Mount Dalsnibba by Transfer Cruise—which we booked before the cruise for £98.10 each. After grabbing a quick coffee at Vistas Cafe Bar on Deck 6 ☕ and a hearty breakfast at The Quays on Deck 8, we set off on our adventure to explore one of Norway’s most beautiful landscapes. Our first stop? A scenic boat ride from Hellesylt to Geiranger, passing the world-famous Seven Sisters Waterfall 💦. The ride lasted about 45 minutes to an hour, and although the weather wasn’t great (hello rain and wind! 🌧️), the views were absolutely spectacular! This fjord is like something out of a fairytale – majestic mountains, cascading waterfalls, and that dramatic Norwegian sky. Once we reached Geiranger, we jumped onto a coach, just a short walk from the port. The first stop was the Flydal Gorge Viewpoint, where we got a glimpse of the famous Geiranger Fjord. Although the weather was pretty rough, with rain and clouds rolling in, the views were still jaw-dropping! 🌄 We spent about 20 minutes here before heading further uphill towards the star of today’s show: Mount Dalsnibba 🏔️. But it wasn’t just a straight shot to the top – we made our way through scenic hairpin bends, passing by Lake Djupvatn, a gorgeous deep-blue lake nestled between the mountains. The bad weather didn’t let up, but that didn't stop me from filming as much as possible. Finally, we arrived at Mount Dalsnibba, standing at a massive 1,460 metres above sea level. Unfortunately, we only had 25 minutes to explore due to delays, and the weather was less than ideal, with heavy clouds and winds that limited our view 😕. Even with the weather, the feeling of being on top of Mount Dalsnibba, overlooking the magnificent fjords, was still a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After a quick stop at the souvenir shop for some delicious fresh pastries (warm by the fireplace 🔥), we had to make our way back down. The coach took us back to Geiranger, but the return boat to Hellesylt was delayed by more than an hour—a bit of a disappointment, but hey, that’s travel, right? ⛴️ While we waited for the boat, we had a look around one of the local souvenir shops and filmed a bit of the beautiful Geiranger port area. When we finally got back on the boat, we retraced our journey, once again passing the incredible Seven Sisters Waterfall. It was still just as mesmerising as before, even in the dreary weather! 🌧️💦 Once back at Hellesylt, we had a 15-minute walk back to the P&O Iona, where we quickly freshened up before our next adventure: a fantastic dinner at the Keel & Cow, one of the ship's specialty restaurants. I’ve got to say, their food is top-notch,. 🍔🍺 After filling up on amazing food, we headed to The Club House to catch the England vs Netherlands game in the Euro 2024 semi-final. England won (yes!) and it was a great end to a long, adventurous day! Although we had some delays and rough weather, the experience of seeing Mount Dalsnibba and the Norwegian Fjords was unforgettable. And hey, that’s what travel is all about – the highs and the unexpected challenges! 🌄✨ If you love scenic views, adrenaline-filled drives up steep mountains, and experiencing some of Norway’s most iconic landmarks, then this vlog is for you!
