This Week in Seongsu | EP.04 | The Last Days of August

August brought another wave of change to Seongsu. An unexpected Manchester pop-up appeared, football shirts spilled onto the streets, movie and brand pop-ups opened, and a former bank began a new life as a massive pop-up space. There were crowds waiting for RIIZE and CORTIS, quieter moments around Ttukseom, and a small idol birthday celebration away from the busiest streets. But while new places kept appearing, familiar ones were disappearing too. One of my favorite remaining restaurants was gone. And Samduk Jeongpan, a place I had been documenting for months, was disappearing piece by piece. This isn't a guide to every pop-up in Seongsu. It's simply a record of what I saw as I worked, walked and passed through the neighborhood during the last days of August. 📍 Seongsu-dong & Ttukseom, Seoul, South Korea 8월의 마지막, 성수에는 또 많은 변화가 있었습니다. 의외의 맨체스터 팝업이 등장하고 거리에는 유니폼을 입은 사람들이 보이기 시작했습니다. 영화와 브랜드 팝업들이 이어졌고, 오랫동안 은행이 있던 자리도 대형 팝업 공간으로 변해 첫 행사를 시작했습니다. RIIZE와 CORTIS를 기다리는 엄청난 인파가 거리를 채운 날도 있었고, 조금 떨어진 뚝섬 쪽에서는 훨씬 조용한 풍경과 작은 아이돌 생일 이벤트도 만났습니다. 하지만 새로운 공간들이 계속 생겨나는 사이, 익숙했던 장소들은 하나둘 사라지고 있었습니다. 제가 좋아했던 마지막 남은 식당도 사라졌고, 몇 달 동안 변화 과정을 기록해온 삼덕정판 역시 조금씩 과거의 모습이 되어가고 있습니다. 이번 영상은 성수의 모든 팝업을 소개하는 영상이 아닙니다. 8월의 마지막을 일하고 걷고 지나가며 제가 직접 마주친 성수의 모습을 기록했습니다. 📍 서울 성수동 · 뚝섬
