AI Doomguy Goes Back to E1M1, Now in 4x the Pixels | Mission Report #001 Remastered

AI Doomguy goes back to where it all began: Doom E1M1, the Hangar. The first level the bot ever cleared (26 September 2026), now recorded at 640x480 instead of 320x240: four times the pixels. House rule for this report: every second of gameplay is real time. Nothing is sped up. Boring stretches were cut, and every cut is marked on screen. The real numbers, from the bot's own logs (run 3717, 24 October 2026): E1M1 cleared in 3,705 steps (7:04 of game time), 3 kills, 1 secret, 78 health at the exit One imp took 37 health in under 7 seconds (from 90 down to 53) Right after: E1M2. The bot stood next to the exit switch and kept pressing the wrong wall, because it remembered only the LAST direction it had used there (south, once) instead of the usual one (east, 262 times in the logs). Fixed: it now remembers what worked most often, and tries the other walls when one does not open. Next attempt: E1M2 cleared on the first try (20,374 steps, 12 kills, 92 health). Nobody holds the controller: the bot sees the screen, builds its own map and plans its own route. The level map in the side panel is only used afterwards, as a ruler for this report.
