Assam to Bihar - My first Trip | Sabhyata Dwar | Road Trip to Ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara | Pt 1

From Guwahati airport we boarded the flight to Patna & reached there in approx 1.5 hours. Upon landing we took a cab & checked into our hotel Green Forest located at Boring Road, Patna. To feed our hunger we went to the McDonald's at Gandhi Maidan. After having our lunch done we went to the nearby Sabhyata Dwar, spent an hour there & returned back to the hotel. For dinner we ordered food from Zomato (although our hotel had an in-house restaurant too). Next morning we left Patna for a road trip to Bodh Gaya (120 kms) in self driven car booked through ZoomCar. Upon driving few kilometers we decided to change the route & reach Bodh Gaya via Nalanda & Rajgir. While crossing Bihar Sharif we saw hills (Hiranya Parvat) at distant & decided to reach its top. The road to Hiranya Parvat's top was narrow but we got there successfully, we spent around half an hour there roaming & clicking pictures in the well maintained Park and then continued our road journey towards Nalanda. After driving for few more kilometers we reached the archaeological site Ruins of ancient Nalanda University (Mahavihara). We hired an e-rickshaw there in 300 INR & visited Shilpagram, Xuan Zang Memorial, Black Buddha Temple & Ruins of Nalanda - a World Heritage Site. Changing our initial plan, adding these places to our itinerary & taking a longer route to reach Bodh Gaya was all worth it. We had a great time there, we were amazed to see & know the ancient history of Bihar (& India) so closely. We spent 1.5 hours in Nalanda & left it to reach Rajgir.
