Drawing from Bob Emiliani's book, The Triumph of Classical Management Over Lean Management, Jason Schroeder tackles a hard question he keeps coming back to: why does the construction industry resist the very solutions it needs? He breaks down why executives disconnected from the field have little real motivation to change, why it's often easier for leadership to make quick, surface-level decisions than to do the harder work of training and empowering people, and why protected leadership circles resist disruption. This episode is a direct, no-holds-barred call to action, challenging owners, GCs, trade partners, and vendors to stop rewarding companies that hurt the people doing the work, and to treat this as the public health issue it truly is.
