As the 20th Asian Games continue in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, let’s take a look at the latest Asian Games 2026 medal tally and country rankings for September 29, 2026 (Day 10). This update highlights the latest standings and notable changes as the competition continues. China remains firmly at the top with 143 gold medals and 254 medals overall, followed by Japan and South Korea in 2nd and 3rd. Uzbekistan stays in 4th, while Thailand remains in 5th. One of the biggest moves near the top comes from Bahrain, which has climbed from 8th to 6th after adding two gold medals, moving ahead of Iran and Kazakhstan. Overall, the upper part of the rankings continues to be dominated by East and Central Asian nations, while Southeast Asia has broad representation and West Asia is seeing some significant movement. With several countries adding gold medals, the battle for positions in the middle and upper sections of the standings is becoming increasingly competitive. In East Asia, China, Japan, South Korea and North Korea continue to occupy prominent positions, while Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei remain among the leading entries from the region. Central Asia also maintains a strong presence near the top, with Uzbekistan in 4th and Kazakhstan in 8th, while Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are also on the standings. In Southeast Asia (SEA/ASEAN), Thailand continues to lead the region in 5th place. The Philippines moved up to 17th after adding a gold medal, while Indonesia climbed to 15th, and Malaysia remains in the top 11. Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei and other Southeast Asian nations continue to add to the region's broad representation. West Asia saw some notable movement, with Bahrain making the biggest climb into 6th place. Iran is now 7th, while Kuwait made a significant jump from 15th to 13th after winning a gold medal. Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon and Oman are also represented. In South Asia, India has moved into the top 10 and now has 6 gold medals and 52 medals overall. India's sixth gold came from the women's 4×400m relay, while the country also added several other medals during the update. Sri Lanka remains in 24th with one gold and one silver. Compared with other regions, South Asia continues to have a relatively modest presence near the top, with Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh still without a gold medal.
