Our rural Zimbabwe homestead journey continues 🇿🇼💧 We successfully drilled our borehole and found water — but what will it take to actually get that water ready for use? In this episode, we're heading out to continue the next stage of our rural homestead project. We're buying a 5,000L water tank, checking borehole pump prices in Zimbabwe, looking at fencing and security for the borehole, and comparing prices for other building materials we'll need as the homestead develops. First, we visit the water tank warehouse to choose and purchase our tank before delivering it to the property. Then we're back out looking at the equipment and materials needed for the next stages of the borehole and homestead. We also visit a building-materials supplier to look at prices for fencing, taps, showers, light switches, adapters, paint and other finishing materials. If you're building in Zimbabwe, developing rural land, setting up a borehole or planning a project back home from the diaspora, come along as we share the real process, decisions and prices we encounter along the way. And the water project isn't only about our homestead. Once the complete system is operational, we're planning a communal tap outside the homestead so people from the surrounding village can also access the borehole water. ❤️💧 👇🏾 What would you prioritise next? 💧 Complete the water system ☀️ Install solar 🔒 Secure and fence the borehole 🏠 Start restoring the existing homestead And if you've installed a borehole system in Zimbabwe, what did your complete setup cost? Share your experience in the comments — it could help someone else planning a similar project. 🏗️ Build in the city. 🌿 Develop in the countryside. 🇿🇼 Explore Zimbabwe — one project at a time.
