Aragorn informs Theoden 10,000 Uruk-Hai are marching to Helm”s Deep from Isengard and urges him to call for aid. Theoden believes all old alliances are dead, and they are alone in battle. Haldir then leads an army of Elves from Lothlórien to Helm's Deep. Haldir tells King Théoden that he brings word from Elrond of Rivendell and restores an old alliance between men and elves.
