Before the worries, responsibilities, messages, decisions, and uncertainties of the day begin to take over your thoughts, come into God’s presence and surrender everything to Him. If you are struggling with overthinking, fear, anxiety, mental exhaustion, distractions, or thoughts about things you cannot control, let this morning prayer remind you that you do not have to carry everything alone. God knows what happened yesterday, He knows what you are facing today, and He is already present in what lies ahead. In this prayer, we ask the Lord to guard our minds with His peace, free us from overthinking, give us wisdom and focus, guide our decisions, control our reactions, protect us when unexpected news comes, and renew our strength when we feel mentally and emotionally tired. Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer and allow His peace to guard our hearts and minds. Isaiah 26:3 reminds us that God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him. And 2 Timothy 1:7 declares that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Jesus also reminds us in John 14:27 that the peace He gives is different from the peace the world gives. You may not know everything this day will bring, but you can begin it knowing who is walking with you. You do not need tomorrow’s strength today.
