Experiencing such a sudden loss to wild predators is one of the harshest realities of living close to nature, leaving a heavy quiet around the yard. To cope with the sorrow & keep the homestead moving forward, I poured my energy into long, demanding working days—digging post holes, setting cement pillars, & roofing corrugated iron to construct a sturdy shelter for our buffalo, alongside repairing an old lawn mower to clear thick mountain brush along our paths on Golden Ridge Farm.
