Korean Folk Song Medley for Gayageum Quartet

This work presents a selection of Korea’s most beloved folk songs performed by a quartet of 12-string gayageums. Beginning with the Jeju folk song “Neoyeong Nayeong,” the medley continues with the lively “Miryang Arirang,” the iconic “Arirang,” the lyrical “Doraji,” and concludes with the passionate “Jindo Arirang.” By preserving the unique beauty and character of each melody, this arrangement highlights the delicate expressions of the gayageum and shares the charm and spirit of Korean traditional music. 한국의 대표적인 민요들을 12현 가야금 4대의 풍부하고 다채로운 음색으로 연주하는 작품입니다. 제주 민요 〈너영나영〉을 시작으로, 경쾌한 〈밀양아리랑〉, 한국을 대표하는 민요 〈아리랑〉, 서정적인 〈도라지〉, 그리고 한과 흥이 어우러진 〈진도아리랑〉으로 이어집니다. 각 민요가 지닌 고유한 아름다움과 정서를 살리면서, 가야금만의 섬세하고 풍성한 표현력을 통해 한국 전통음악의 매력을 전합니다.
