Today I’m trying something new: woodturning a wooden bowl and finishing it with crackle spray paint. This effect creates a beautiful, aged texture—but it’s a bit unpredictable, so I did some testing first. In this video, I walk through the full process: Choosing the right wood for color contrast Prepping the surface with friction polish(sanding sealer) Testing crackle paint on different base coats Turning a UFO-shaped bowl Mounting with a new jaw chuck kit from Vevor Creating a jam chuck to finish the bottom And finally, applying the oil finish for the big reveal This is a project anyone can try—you don’t need fancy tools to get a great result.
