Kev, the Jabiru 230 and a bird. What happens when a small bird strikes a Jabiru 230?

Flying with Kevin from Tyabb YTYA to Yarram YYRM via the coastal route in his Jabiru J230 we heard a loud thud while cruising at 3,500 feet. Identifying that the engine was ok, the aircraft seemed intact and the controllability was not an issue, we flew on. Apart from arranging for a private SAR watch and also ADSB tracking, we also contacted the Yarram ARO (Jim) who undertook a visual inspection as we flew over, low and slow. With no damage sighted, we decided to land, and there we found the cause of the thud. @topgunpete1
