📖 About Surah An-Nahl (From Kanzul Iman Commentary)
Surah An-Nahl consists of 128 verses and was revealed in Makkah. In the classical commentary framework of Kanzul Iman, this chapter is beautifully recognized as the "Surah of Bounties" (Surah an-Ni'am) due to the extensive and breathtaking manner in which Allah enumerates His vast favors upon humanity. The word An-Nahl means "The Bee," drawing its name from the magnificent divine inspiration given to this small creature to build its home in mountains and trees, traveling paths made easy by its Lord to produce a sweet drink of varying colors containing healing for mankind.
According to the commentary, Kanzul Iman highlights how Allah explicitly prompts human intellect to observe the perfection of nature as an unyielding proof of monotheism—detailing the creation of livestock for warmth and food, the rain sent down to revive barren soil, and the orchestration of the sun, moon, and stars. The commentary deeply emphasizes the core spiritual lesson of accountability: if you were to count the blessings of Allah, you could never enumerate them, yet He remains All-Forgiving and Most Merciful. Ultimately, the Surah provides a timeless, comprehensive standard for moral conduct, commanding absolute justice, excellence (Ihsan), and generosity to relatives, while firmly forbidding immorality and oppression.
