A Little Getaway to Darjeeling 🌿 | Exploring Mall Road, Local Food & Gorkhey Haat

Sometimes, the best trips are the ones we don't plan. 🤍 This time, we took a little getaway from Namchi, Sikkim, to Darjeeling, West Bengal. From enjoying the beautiful mountain roads to having our favorite meal at Bonnie’s Cafe, finding a cozy stay near Chowrasta, and taking in the breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga from Mall Road — it was a lovely little escape. We also explored Darjeeling's local food scene at North Yang Tibetan Kitchen, where we tried Tibetan butter tea, tingmo, and chicken shapta. The next morning, we visited Gorkhey Haat, a traditional weekly market where local people bring their homegrown vegetables, homemade products, and traditional food items. A few beautiful views, new flavors, local culture, and little moments that made this trip memorable.
