Lake Powell just fell to its lowest level since it first filled up. A strip of shoreline that went underwater in the mid-1960s is back in the air, and a lot more has come back with it. We go down the canyon wall one level at a time: a ghost forest of cottonwoods that still have their bark, baskets and sandals more than a thousand years old, a stone arch underwater since 1969, a hidden waterfall chamber called Cathedral in the Desert, and at the very bottom, sixty years of Colorado River mud that is now moving toward Glen Canyon Dam.
