How to do colored pencil faster | Barn Owl

This is a technique I have not seen other artist using, even though it speeds up the coloring process a lot. Keep in mind, that this may take time to master. What you need is: Your good quality drawing paper. I use Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed watercolor paper that is heavy weight. You also need regular Sand paper to make your colored pencil powder. Some paint thinner or mineral spirit to dissolve your colored pencil powder to this paint kind of pigment. Stiff brush to paint / blend your colored pencils And of course your colored pencils. I use here Polychromos and Luminance pencils. This video is speed up version, but this whole drawing (size A4 21 x 29,7 cm) took me about 5-6 hours to complete.
