My name is Annika Lyytikäinen and I am a Finnish clarinet player and folk musician. During the years I’ve spent in the wonderful world of folk music, I have discovered loads of amazing folk clarinet traditions from around the world. Some of them I studied carefully with academic experts and traditional players, some I’ve got to know only recently. This tune is a polka that was played by Sifferi Kivisilta (1881–1965), one of the most beloved Finnish folk clarinetists. Sifferi lived in Eurajoki and that's also what the name of the tune means – polka from Eura. Unlike most folk musicians, Sifferi travelled a lot and e.g. worked in America.
