What do you do when you don't understand what God is doing? What do you do when evil seems to prosper, your prayers seem unanswered, the future looks uncertain, and fear starts convincing you that God has forgotten you? In this powerful Terry K. Anderson sermon from Habakkuk 1:12–17, “From Fear to Faith,” Rev. Terry K. Anderson shows us how to move from panic and confusion into genuine trust in God. Habakkuk struggled with a question believers still ask today: How can a holy God allow things that seem so wrong? Why do bad things happen? Why do people who mean well struggle while others seem to prosper? Why doesn't God immediately stop the evil He has the power to stop? We may not understand every answer. But Anderson reminds us of something greater than our questions: *God sees what we cannot see.* God existed before history. His throne is above the world. He is not trapped inside time. He sees tomorrow while we're still trying to survive today. And that's why faith doesn't require us to understand everything God does. Anderson declares: *“I don't follow God because I understand it. I follow God because I trust Him.”* You cannot see the future. God can. You don't know what your enemies may be planning. God does. You don't know where every obstacle is waiting. God already sees it. Faith says, “I don't know how this is going to work out, but I believe God is still in control.” Anderson illustrates this through Israel standing before the Red Sea. They had mountains around them, Pharaoh behind them, and an impossible sea ahead. But they didn't have to open the sea. They only had to keep walking. *You don't have to open the sea. Just walk.* And while you walk, God can open what you could never open yourself. The same principle applies to your life. You don't need to know exactly how God will provide. Keep walking. You don't need to know how the closed door will open. Keep walking. You don't need to see the entire road before taking the next faithful step. Keep walking. And when you don't hear an answer from God, pray. Anderson gives one of the simplest and most powerful definitions of prayer: *Prayer is releasing a burden.* God, I can't handle this. You take it. God, I'm tired of trying to figure this out. You take it. God, I'm worried about tomorrow. You take it. God, I'm still angry about what happened. You take it. God, I can't get this pain out of my mind. You take it. Then stop taking back what you already gave to God. Release the anxiety. Release the resentment. Release the bitterness. Release the people who hurt you. Hatred is like drinking poison and hoping the person you hate will die. Pray for them instead. And finally, Anderson tells the unforgettable story of a goat trapped in a well. Every shovel of dirt meant to bury that goat became another step toward freedom. It shook the dirt off. Stepped on it. And eventually walked out. That's your message today: *SHAKE IT OFF.* When they lie about you—shake it off. When they criticize you—shake it off. When they tell you you'll never become anything—shake it off. What was intended to bury you may become something God uses to lift you higher. Move from fear to faith. Release the burden. Keep walking. And trust the God who can already see what you cannot. 📖 *Scripture:* Habakkuk 1:12–17 🎙️ *Message:* From Fear to Faith ✝️ *Preacher:* Rev. Terry K.
