For years, I sometimes thought keeping the peace in my marriage meant keeping quiet. But I eventually learned that silence and peace are not always the same thing.
There are things in marriage we really can let go. But there are also hurts, misunderstandings and needs that have to be talked about before silence turns into resentment.
In this video, I’m sharing what 34 years of marriage taught me about speaking up without tearing your husband down, choosing the right time for difficult conversations, listening instead of preparing your next response, and learning to tell your spouse what you actually need.
Healthy communication isn’t about winning an argument. It’s about creating a marriage where both people feel safe enough to speak and cared for enough to listen.
I’m Donna, and this is Still Standing With Donna.
This is a season, not a sentence.
