It begins at dawn on the path. Through the mist at the torii, the cedar grove, the stone garden, the veil of moss. Bells, rain, the sound of the tide, the lantern-lit path, until you arrive at the moon on the pond. The same path is walked twice, but never with the same take of a song. One last passage through the torii, and it ends on the breath of silence. It carries through until morning without waking you. I don't claim to know where the path leads. I only know that walking without deciding on a destination is when my head goes quietest. This is three hours for that.
