This rarely seen stage version unfolds over approximately twelve minutes, bringing together John D., a full ensemble of dancers, choreography, costumes and theatrical staging to turn one of Dalida’s most celebrated songs into a complete piece of musical theatre. The performance develops into a spectacular stage sequence, capturing the scale and ambition of the original Antwerp production and showing another dimension of John D. as a performer: not only as a singer and interpreter of Dalida’s music, but as the central figure in a fully staged theatrical show. Together with Paroles, paroles and the continuation of C’est vrai, this second part offers another fascinating glimpse into a production that combined music, emotion, glamour and theatre.
