When Nothing Feels Right, Stop Forcing It | Self-Care Sunday

Welcome to Self-Care Sunday. 🌿 This morning did not begin peacefully. Our house is still upside down, contractors are coming, plans are changing, and John and I seem to be taking turns carrying the anxiety. If I'm anxious, he feels it. If he's anxious, I feel it. So we're trying to come back to one simple thing: one task at a time. I began today's Self-Care Sunday thinking I would return to Mark Nepo's The Book of Awakening. I haven't read from it with you in quite a while, and it felt like time. But the September 20 reading didn't speak to me. I searched for another familiar reading. That didn't feel right either. So I put the book down. After talking with you for a little while, I decidedAttribution Code "Ebbs and Flows" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... to stop searching and simply open the book intuitively—and there it was. The reading I needed today. Afterward, I didn't want to keep filling the space with words. Instead, we settle into a quieter part of our Sunday together. I'll guide you gently through a meditation while we diamond paint, accompanied by peaceful music. I took some time to make notes, work on my canvas, and share a few diamond-painting tips and tricks along the way. John even makes a little appearance in the rhythm of the morning when he returns from his bike ride and prepares for his music lesson. There was music in our home while I worked, although I'll remove that audio from the video and let our own peaceful soundtrack carry us instead. After our diamond-painting session, I return for another conversation. Everything will be timestamped, so you can choose what you need today. If you find your center during the quiet portion, you can simply stay there. And if you'd like to keep walking with me through the rest of my Sunday self-care, I'll be there too. Maybe that's part of self-care as well—not forcing ourselves to follow the plan simply because it was the plan. Sometimes we put the book down. Sometimes we cancel the party. Sometimes we do one thing at a time. And sometimes we open ourselves to what is actually in front of us. Thank you for spending part of your Sunday with me. 🤍 Create the world you want to live in. — Elisa #SelfCareSunday #DiamondPainting #TheBookOfAwakening #MarkNepo #MindfulCrafting Blush Raven Portrait – Licensed Diamond Art Kit by ©Cocomarshmallow Art https://share.google/dMi4eQIm6MgALdAvr Grab Ditzys Diamond Painting Tray here: https://www.ditzysdiamondden.com?bg_r...
