In this video, I show you how to replace the spark plugs on a 2014–2019 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8L engine. This is a crucial maintenance job that helps keep your engine running smoothly, improves fuel efficiency, and ensures reliable ignition.
Toyota recommends changing spark plugs around every 120,000 miles, but if you’re experiencing misfires, poor MPG, or sluggish acceleration, it might be time sooner.
🔧 In this video:
• What tools you need (9/16 spark plug socket, torque wrench, etc.)
• How to access and remove the ignition coils
• Step-by-step spark plug removal & installation
• Correct torque specs and gap tips
• Which spark plugs work best (OEM vs aftermarket)
🧰 Tools & Parts Used:
• 10mm socket
• 9/16” spark plug socket
• Torque wrench
I used NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plugs, but the Corolla stock uses Denso OEM spark plugs (make sure you check your manual or see part number in the video)
