Upchurch Brings Mac Miller’s “Come Back to Earth” to Life | Reaction

Man… this was a really dope watch. It’s been a minute since I’ve checked out an Upchurch video, and seeing him perform Mac Miller’s “Come Back to Earth” live was something special. The vocals, the acoustic arrangement, the lighting, and the overall atmosphere all came together perfectly. Mac Miller has always been an artist I’ve felt connected to. We were born the same year, our birthdays are only about a week apart, and I’ve always related to different parts of his journey. Hearing these lyrics through Upchurch’s voice gave the song a different perspective while still carrying the same emotion. I can completely understand why Upchurch chose to cover this song. Mac’s writing is timeless, and these lyrics translate across genres because they’re honest and relatable. Whether it’s hip-hop, country, or acoustic singer-songwriter music, the message still lands. I don’t listen to a ton of country, but this is the lane I enjoy the most—the slower, acoustic, songwriter vibe. It’s chill, emotional, and feels real. Even though this isn’t Upchurch’s original song, it fits that style perfectly. It was also just good to see Upchurch looking like he’s enjoying making music again. I’m definitely looking forward to diving into more of his recent work. And yes… the Turbulence album reactions are still coming. Life has been throwing a lot at me lately and I’ve got a lot on my plate at home, but I appreciate everyone being patient with me. We’ll get there.
