we've been sitting on this method for a month now due to lack of passion. came back to this today and knocked it out twice in a row across 3 runs. idk how I managed to mismatch my solar fragments across loadouts otherwise the damage would have been clearable. we also wiped to a bug gg
the worst part of this encounter is the survivability. the constant chip damage and tight mechanics timing make this encounter exhausting to think about much less run. you need someone with good hardware to minimize the leave rejoin portion of variable mechanic.
method for dunking chronons:
on 1st set of minotaurs look for majority color (3 on the map) and everyone picks up majority color
then kill the remaining 2 minotaurs to drop their chronons and read majority immediately after. you do this because every read scrambles the colors on the map, including minotaurs already spawned in. dropping chronons on the ground ensures that color is safely accounted for
dunk on any rings that reveal color and immediately pick up the dropped chronons to avoid despawn timer (30s)
kill hydra and hold on to those chronons
on the 2nd set of minotaurs, the majority color on the map will always be the color that was not present during the 1st set
kill all 3 of these majority color minotaurs to drop their chronons. 1 player will not be holding on to anything, they need to pick up one of these chronons and read quickly
the 2 players still holding chronons dunk off of process of elimination
then you rush the dropped chronons and fill in all the rings
kill hydra for 3rd set to be used for variable mechanic
for example map is WWWRR, everyone collects W then drops R on the ground then team reads W1 and W4
dunk W1 and W4, work together to collect both R on time, then kill hydra
map will be BBBRR, team kills all B to drop chronons and the odd player holding nothing picks one B up to read B3
dunk R2 and R5, work together to collect both B (only 1 B for this rng) then dunk B3
you will always be able to finish the rings with 2 hydras doing this, only exception being if you take too long and chronons despawn
after dunking chronons quickly take down all 4 wyverns on the map, then take down the hydra and make as many minotaurs headless as possible before impatient cue in the chat. step on plates- 1 player must be in menu ready to kick leave rejoin player instantly on align. leave rejoin player will call instantly on align w/ join code copied for fastest possible rejoin. while waiting, the 2 other players try as best as possible to keep all minotaurs in mid while making calls. right before rejoin, all minotaurs are free to be killed and whoever has a revive token leaves to camp the ghost spawn spot to revive ASAP. the two players that stayed behind can give comms to help the leave rejoin player route chronons to portals.
for damage, we did winters guile celestial fire into dawn chorus 1k + double boots of the assembler rifts with sleeper simulants. should be very good 1st phase damage although the survivability is hard. 2nd phase and final stand is probably harder to solve. I would recommend trying 3x dawn chorus 1k for the clones then 2x bastion + dawn chorus celestial fire spam with the third player providing well of radiance, tractor, and shieldcrush.
