I Didn’t Expect the French Alps to Look Like This | Italy to France Agnel Pass Scenic Drive 4K

Join me for a spectacular high-altitude drive from Italy into France, crossing the border at Col Agnel and continuing deep into the mountains of the Queyras. The journey begins high in the Alps on the Italian side of Col Agnel. Almost immediately, we cross the border into France and begin descending through a wild mountain landscape of rocky slopes, open valleys, and dramatic alpine scenery. From the pass, the road continues through the Queyras toward Molines-en-Queyras and Château-Ville-Vieille. As we descend, the landscape gradually changes from exposed high-mountain terrain to greener valleys, forests, traditional villages, and winding roads surrounded by steep slopes. The drive then turns toward Arvieux and Brunissard, where the road begins climbing again on the D902. Beyond Brunissard, the atmosphere changes once more. The road rises higher into a much harsher and more unusual landscape, with increasingly bare slopes, rocky formations, and the first signs of the dramatic terrain leading toward Casse Déserte. This is one of those routes where the scenery keeps changing completely in a relatively short distance - from the Italian side of the Alps, across an international border at high altitude, through peaceful villages of the Queyras, and back toward an almost lunar mountain landscape. The drive ends on the climb above Brunissard, before reaching Col d’Izoard itself.
