In today's episode, we're starting a brand new adventure here in Reading, Minnesota, we are officially starting a MEGA Beef Cattle Farm! The plan for this series is to build multiple large feedlots that will eventually be home to at least 5,000 head of Beef cattle. That number is just our starting goal and if we’re able to manage it efficiently and keep everything running smoothly, we won’t be stopping there. This is going to be a true large scale beef operation, and supporting that many animals is going to take a massive amount of land, equipment, and logistics. To make something like this work, we’re going to need to produce an enormous amount of feed. That means farming thousands of acres for silage, grain, and other crops to keep these cattle healthy, growing, and eventually ready to be sold off for some serious profits. Everything we do in this series — from how we build the farm, to how we work the fields, to the equipment we buy is going to be focused around supporting this massive beef operation. To get things started, I’ve already purchased a 200-acre parcel of land and our brand new Chevy Silverado 3500 pickup truck so lets hop in and fire it up for the first time and head over to our new land. This farm land is going to be the home of our brand new MEGA Beef Farm, and today we’ll start planning exactly how this operation is going to come together. I’ve also started this series off with $20 million in the bank, and that budget is going to fund everything from the construction of our feedlots, silage bunkers, grain storage, and equipment sheds, to our starter fleet of machinery and additional land purchases. If everything goes according to plan, I’m hoping we’ll have enough to not only get the farm built, but also bring in our first 1,000 head of beef cattle right from the start. We’re beginning this series in the Spring, which means we’ve got a clean slate. Once the farm is built and the equipment is delivered, we’re going to have a massive Year 1 ahead of us — planning crop rotations, planting fields, producing feed, and laying the groundwork to support thousands of cattle long-term. The main focus for today is getting this farm established. We’ll be designing and building a feedlot capable of holding 5,000 head of beef cattle, setting up multiple bunker silos for chaff that will be fermented into silage, constructing large grain storage for fattening rations, and making sure we have enough shed space to house all the equipment we’ll need to run an operation of this size. Let’s get to work and officially kick off this new adventure in Reading, Minnesota as we begin building one of the biggest beef cattle operations we’ve ever built here on the channel!
