Old Cloghran Church & Graveyard, Co. Dublin Medieval Site – No Commentary

A quiet visit to the historic church ruins and graveyard at Cloghran, near Swords in County Dublin. Hidden away from the main road, this old burial ground contains the remains of a church built on the site of an earlier medieval church. The church at Cloghran was rebuilt in 1712, while historical records suggest an earlier church may have stood here from around the 12th century. Parts of the older church fabric survived into the later building, and the graveyard remains one of Fingal’s historic medieval parish burial grounds.
