4K London Cycle Ride — Stratford to Aldgate & Back via Roman Road & Mile End

Stratford to Aldgate through the Olympic Park and Hackney Wick, out along Old Ford Road and the Roman Road — and back on Cycleway 2. Warm for September, with heavy black cloud over the whole ride and low sun breaking underneath it. The rain held off. Out: Stratford → Olympic Park → Hackney Wick → Old Ford → Roman Road → Bethnal Green → Whitechapel → Aldgate Back: Aldgate → Whitechapel → Mile End → Bow → Stratford 17.1 km, 58 minutes. Warm going into autumn, black cloud banked up most of the way and the light coming in low and hard underneath it on the way back. No rain this time. Cycleway 2 was unusually busy — a lot of hire bikes, and plenty of riders taking it gently.
