Listed in the order of purchase, they are: Hector, Napoleon, Little Miss Figgy, Brown Turkey, Firoma, Morena, and Bornholmer. The last two were purchased only this summer and have not yet begun to bear fruit. Most of these varieties are capable of producing two crops: the summer fruit that develops in the spring, and the main crop (autumn fruit) that begins to form in the summer. The first three varieties all produced abundant summer fruit. By comparison, the Brown Turkey produced its summer fruit relatively late, while the Firoma produced only autumn fruit. Among the five varieties that bore fruit, Napoleon and Hector were the most prolific. The Hector plant grew tall with numerous branches and produced a heavy crop, whereas the Napoleon developed fruit buds at almost every leaf axil—often two at a time.
