Three Capes is getting closer… so it was time to find out if we’re actually ready! 😅🥾 A group of friends in our 50s and 60s headed out for an overnight practice hike along the beautiful NSW South Coast — loaded packs, stunning beaches, bush tracks and plenty of laughs along the way. For me, this weekend was also another step in my recovery journey. After months of struggling with my energy and slowly building myself back up, carrying a pack for two days was going to be a good test. And something seems to be changing… I’m starting to feel like myself again. ❤️ Of course, this wasn't exactly a serious training camp. There was wine. 🍷 A very large block of chocolate. 🍫 Enough fresh fruit to feed the group. A book that became increasingly less appealing to carry. 📖😂 A shoe that wouldn't stop filling with sand. A duck with an important job. 🦆 And a drone that decided to create its own adventure. But amongst all the laughs, we learned a lot about our packs, our gear and ourselves — and the girls shared some lovely advice for anyone in their 50s, 60s or beyond who's thinking about getting outdoors and having an adventure of their own. You don't have to be the fastest, the fittest or have everything figured out. Sometimes you just need to pack your bag, find some good people and start. So… *are we ready for the Three Capes?* I guess we're about to find out. 😉 *Next stop: Tasmania! 🥾❤️* #ThreeCapes #HikingOver50 #WomenWhoHike #AdventureOver50 #HikingAustralia #ActiveOver50 #Over50Adventure #TasmaniaHiking #ThreeCapesTrack #HikingWithFriends #OutdoorWomen #AdventureAtAnyAge #NSWSouthCoast #HikingMotivation #MidlifeAdventure
