Loft Boarding in my UK New Build | Raised Loft Storage

How to Board a Loft… Best way to board a loft? Raise the loft floor onto stilts. This video explains how I installed loft legs and boards in my UK new-build loft. Don’t compromise your insulation or void your NHBC builders warranty, use a raised loft floor on stilts instead. This was a first-time DIY loft boarding - any questions are welcome in the comments section, I will answer to the best of my ability. _____________________________________________ DIY Loft Ladder Ideas: I used telescopic retractable ladders that can be hooked on and off and stored away separately. This was to avoid me having to widen the loft hatch and install a new loft hatch with a built-in ladder system (as my DIYs tend to be completely solo, I didn’t feel confident doing this alone). Linked here: https://amzn.to/4fNSpi6 _____________________________________________ DIY Loft Lighting Ideas: I used a plug-in LED baton light to save money and avoid me having to pay for an electrician to come and install hard-wired loft lights. I ensured the cable was long enough to reach out of the loft hatch and plug in directly below (next to the ladders). This means that anytime I need to access the loft, I just need to unhook the cable from the entrance of the hatch and plug it in below for instant loft light.
