Did I Recognize You? is a Christian song inspired by the moments in Scripture when Jesus appeared to people who didn't immediately recognize Him. It made me wonder: How many times has Jesus crossed my path and I didn't recognize Him? Was He in the person I walked past? The stranger who needed kindness? The broken person everyone else had already written off? Jesus said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” This song isn't about judging how other people treat someone. It's a question I'm asking myself: Did I recognize You? And if I didn't… I hope I still showed them Your grace. If this song makes even one person look at someone differently, show a little more compassion, or think about Jesus in a way they haven't before, then it did what I hoped it would do.
