Our RV Black Tank Was FULL… So I Pumped It 150 Feet Uphill!

🚐💩 Our RV Black Tank Was FULL… But the Septic Was 150 Feet UPHILL! After spending two weeks parked on our home RV pad, we ran into a problem every RVer eventually faces — our black tank was full, and we still had another week before heading back out on the road! We could have called a honey wagon RV pump-out service, but with a price of over $200, I decided to try another solution. In this video, I put the Flojet RV Macerator Pump to the test by attempting to pump our black tank waste through 150 feet of garden hose and into our home septic system. There was one big challenge: our house and the basement access to the septic system are up a pretty steep hill from the RV! 😳 Would an RV macerator actually have enough power to push black tank waste 150 feet AND uphill? Turns out — it did! The Flojet macerator handled the job surprisingly well. It did take about twice as long as the instructions suggested for this length of hose, but considering the distance and elevation change, I was impressed. Most importantly, we emptied the RV black tank without having to move our fifth wheel or spend more than $200 on a pump-out.
