Shinobi - Joe Musashi, Ninja Detective (Ramen Rider Cover)

I promised a friend I was going to work on this song. When I was a kid, we had a skating rink in my hometown. Roller skating, not ice skating. There were a few arcade games at the skating ring that I remember: Golden Axe, UN Squadron, and Shinobi. Shinobi was amazing. I remembered watching a real master play this game, and he didn't even use the shuriken. He closed the distance and used melee attacks, earned tremendous points. But the thing I think I remember the most was the amazing soundtrack. For Sega games, the trick is always to incorporate a bit of Latin style, and so that's what I've done here. 友達に「この曲をやるよ」って約束してたので、今回作ってみました。 子供の頃、地元にローラースケート場があったんです。アイススケートじゃなくて、ローラースケートのほう。そこにはいくつかアーケードゲームが置いてあって、覚えているのは『ゴールデンアックス』、『U.N. Squadron』、そして『忍 -SHINOBI-』。 『忍』は本当にすごかった。 昔、めちゃくちゃ上手い人がプレイしているのを見たことがあるんですが、その人、なんと手裏剣を全然使わないんですよ。敵との距離を一気に詰めて、近接攻撃だけでどんどん倒していく。そしてものすごいスコアを稼いでました。あれは子供心に「こんなプレイがあるのか！」って感じでした。 でも、今でも一番強く覚えているのは、やっぱりあの素晴らしいサウンドトラック。 セガのゲームといえば、やっぱりちょっとラテンっぽい要素を入れるのがポイントだと思うので、今回はそこを意識してアレンジしてみました Original (c) Yasuhiro Kawakami
