“HANDS OFF KPK!” Pakistan Army Veterans Issue Warning | KPK vs Military Establishment?

🚨 Veterans of Pakistan has issued an unusually stark statement over the escalating confrontation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: “HANDS OFF KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA” and: “You are playing with fire.” The statement accuses the military leadership of conducting a campaign against KP’s elected government and describes the alleged abduction of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor Khan as part of a wider assault on elected representatives. Some underlying events are independently documented, while responsibility for them remains disputed or unestablished. Fazal Shakoor Khan’s staff and PTI say masked armed men intercepted his vehicle near the Peshawar Motorway and took him away at gunpoint. Video circulating from the incident appears to show armed masked men approaching the vehicle and a man firing at its tyres. An FIR has now been registered against unidentified armed men, and a petition seeking the minister’s recovery has been taken to the Peshawar High Court. The confrontation has reached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, where Speaker Babar Saleem Swati questioned the performance of state institutions, warned officials against following what he called illegal orders and asked the Peshawar Corps Commander to engage with provincial representatives. KP government figures have made highly charged comparisons with the events preceding the breakup of Pakistan in 1971; those comparisons are their political characterisation, not an established historical equivalence.
