The Entire History of Ancient Egypt: 3,000 Years on the Nile

In the winter of 1921 an expedition from New York found a letter in an Egyptian tomb, still tied and sealed after nearly four thousand years. This documentary tells the whole story of ancient Egypt, from the first king around 3100 BC to Cleopatra in 30 BC, through the people who built it and fed it: pyramid crews, bakers, farmers, scribes and the tomb workers who staged the oldest strike on record. Along the way come the Great Pyramid and a boatman's logbook of its building, Hatshepsut's Thebes, Nebamun's garden, Akhenaten's city of the sun, Tutankhamun, the village of Deir el-Medina, the Greek kings at Alexandria, and the Rosetta Stone that let scholars read it all again.
