April: Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the bride. Lori and Glen
would like to thank you all for taking the time and for all of the
preparations that were made on their behalf to ensure that they were
surrounded by the love of family and friends as they made their
marriage vows. Born or chosen, you are those that they proudly call
family because it's with you that they've shared the most important
moments and relationships of their lives. Your love and friendship
means the world to them, and Lori and Glen are overjoyed to finally be
able to share with you their wedding day.
It is their hope that tonight you will all eat, drink, and truly
celebrate with them in this amazing moment that, with your help,
they've come to in their lives as a singular community of family and
friends who are joined by your love of them and their love of you.
As most of you know, Lori and Glen have been together for almost 10
years and are at a place in their lives that many young couples only
hope to reach some day. Their friends and families know and enjoy one
another, and they have already established a home of their own which
they fill with the sounds of laughter at game night every chance they
get. Lori and Glen enjoy music, hockey, go Rangers, and travel,
especially travel that involves hockey, or better yet travel that
involves hockey and a proposal of marriage. They love their time
together, the way one picks up where the other leaves off, and the
trust that they share in one another which is complete.
When asked what they love most about one another in their
relationship, Lori became with how extremely lucky she feels. Glen is
kind, thoughtful, generous, and talented; as large a heart as he is in
stature. He is her perfect match; knowledgeable and good at all the
things she isn't. Together, they have all bases covered. Have you had
the lemon squares?
Glen continued, agreeing with the feeling of being very lucky indeed,
and in appreciation of how well they work together and the balance
that they have. Lori is honest, intelligent, caring; as beautiful as
she is on the inside as she is to look upon. Glen knows beyond a doubt
that she will always be there for him and he is honored that she has
chosen him as the one that will always be there for her.
Today Lori and Glen bestow upon one another all the honor and respect
that mirrors the place that they hold in one another's hearts and
lives, all the honor and respect that comes with the title of husband
and wife. Titles that say to the world, 'This is the one person that I
choose to call my own, to hold above all others today and [inaudible:
03:52] days of my life.'
Can I have the rings, please? The spiritual bond and connection shared
by Lori and Glen, and those of you who have gone before, it can best
be understood as a metaphor, and this is why the wedding band, symbol
of eternity without neither an end nor a beginning, has withstood the
test of time. I've got to ask you the most important question you've
ever been asked. Are you ready?
Glen: Yes.
April: Glen, do you take Lori to be your lawfully-wedded wife? Do you
vow to love her and to care for her for as long as you both shall
live? Do you accept her with all of her faults and all of her
strengths, and offer yourself to her as a man with all of his own
faults and strengths? Do you promise to help her when she needs help
and turn to her when you need help? Do you promise to be a loving and
faithful companion, to always put the vows that you made to stay above
all else?
Glen: I do. I, Glen,
April: Take you, Lori. . .
Glen: . . . take you, Lori. . .
April: . . . to be my wife.
Glen: . . . to be my wife.
April: . . . I will love you. . .
Glen: . . . I will love you. . .
April: . . . and honor you. . .
Glen: . . . and honor you. . .
April: . . . respect and cherish you. . .
Glen: . . . respect and cherish you. . .
April: . . . for all the days of my life.
Glen: . . . for all the days of my life.
April: Lori, do you take Glen to be your lawfully-wedded husband? Do
you vow to love this man and to care for him for as long as you both
shall live? Do you accept him with all of his faults and all of his
strengths, and offer yourself to him as a woman with all of your
faults and strengths? Do you promise to help him when he needs help
and turn to him when you need help? Do you promise to be a faithful
and loving companion, to always put the vows that you made stay above
all else?
