We captured this new work in progress footage with RTX 5090 at a Nvidia event prior to Gamescom 2025 (no commentary). This game actually rewards you for being aggressive and precise in combat, allowing you to recover health without needing consumables. In short, Hell is Us combines challenging and tactical combat with a unique healing system that forces you to be constantly aware and proactive in your attacks. If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity. Combat and Stamina: Combat is centered on using melee weapons like swords, axes, and spears, each with its own attack style and speed. One of the most important mechanics is the connection between your health and your stamina. Your stamina bar regenerates over time, but the maximum amount you can have is directly linked to your current health level. This means that if your health is low, you'll also have less stamina to attack or dodge, which makes combat very challenging. The Healing Ring: Healing in the game is what sets it apart from other titles. Instead of using items or potions, you heal through the Healing Ring, a mechanic similar to the "Ki Pulse" in the Nioh series. When you attack and hit an enemy, a white ring appears around you. At that precise moment, if you press the correct button, you can recover a portion of your health.
