4 RIFLES Battle Group in Iraq-Part II, May to Nov 07

During the summer of 2007 we were involved in the most intense fighting of the Iraq campaign since its liberation. Living as a lonely Battle Group in Basra city we experienced - on a daily basis - up to 80 Mortar and rocket rounds, small arms and RPG attacks and up to 15 IEDs. Whilst dealing with all this, we still completed vital reconstruction of the local community, improving schools, upgrading roads and bridges, providing electricity to homes and teaching first aid to Baswaris who had been injured by Jaish al Mahdi attacks. The cost to the Battle Group was 11 soldiers killed in just three months; the sacrifices they and their families have made will always be remembered and this video is dedicated to them.
