Daniel Armand — The Colour Of Remembering | Sessions on the Green®

Daniel Armand — The Colour Of Remembering | Sessions on the Green® The Colour Of Remembering is an instrumental meditation on the elusive nature of memory: the way an experience can return not as a precise recollection, but as an impression of feeling, atmosphere and colour. Without lyrics to define its meaning, the piece leaves that emotional space deliberately open, allowing each listener to bring something of their own history to it. Contemporary soul and the measured character of a soul ballad provide its emotional foundation, while cinematic orchestral elements broaden the musical landscape. Rather than telling its story through words, the arrangement itself becomes the narrative, moving through changes in texture, intensity and scale. The absence of a vocal performance gives the instrumental voice complete freedom to carry the emotion, allowing melody and orchestration to suggest what language might otherwise make explicit. There is a reflective quality to the piece, but its cinematic dimension prevents that introspection from becoming confined or overly intimate. The result is music concerned less with remembering particular events than with remembering how something once felt — the emotional colour that remains when details have begun to disappear.
