Worcestershire Churches: St Mary Magdalene, Alfrick

A tiny Norman church with a Lewis Carrol connection and a vestry door that looks like it belongs in a Hobbit hole, the church of St. Mary Magdalene, Alfrick, is a splendid piece of English country history. Alfrick Church stands atop a hill (this requires support to keep it from falling off), looking down over a village that today is a lot bigger than it was back in the day. Windows of plain glass flood the interior with light, a rood screen divides the interior, and a transept acts as a baptistery.
