This one is about what happened to somebody who helped. Bart Edmiston Jr. is 21. He knew Nolan Wells, and on 4 July he gave aid to the boat the group was using, per PBS NewsHour and NBC News. On 31 July, according to an affidavit, a man in Illinois called and threatened to kill two members of his family. Edward James Porter has been charged over it - charged, not convicted. One of the family members he is accused of threatening is a witness in the investigation. Read that back. Someone helped. Twenty-seven days later a stranger a thousand miles away is charged with threatening that person's family over it. Porter is one of three people charged with threatening a judge, a witness and local officials connected to this case, per CNN, the Washington Post and PBS. And per that reporting, none of the three appears to know Wells, his family or the boating group. Bart Edmiston Jr. has not been charged with anything. Neither has anyone who was on that island. Nobody has been charged in Nolan Wells' death and no suspect has been named. The state autopsy is sealed and going to a grand jury, per WLBT. #NolanWells #HornIsland #TrueCrime #Mississippi #JusticeForNolan
