In this lesson, we'll cover: • What Adobe After Effects is • Understanding the After Effects workspace • How to create a composition • How to import videos, images and other assets • How to add assets to your timeline • Understanding layers • Basic Transform properties • Essential shortcuts you'll use constantly WHAT YOU'LL NEED Software: • Adobe After Effects Minimum PC Requirements for the current version of After Effects: • CPU: Intel 6th Gen or newer, or AMD Ryzen 1000 Series or newer • RAM: 16GB • GPU: Dedicated GPU with at least 4GB VRAM • Storage: At least 8GB available for installation, with additional space for projects and cache • OS: Windows 11 24H2 • Display: 1440 × 900 minimum For a much better experience, especially as your projects become more complex, I'd recommend 32GB RAM, an SSD and a GPU with 8GB VRAM or more. You don't need the most powerful computer to start. Learn the fundamentals, practice consistently and upgrade as your work demands it.
