WKIX Tribute

A tribute to the legendary Top 40 radio station in Raleigh, NC, WKIX. Written and narrated by former WKIX DJ Gary Edens. Audio production by former WKIX DJ, Walter Knox a.k.a. Jack Kane. This tribute was first read live on WTRG FM, Raleigh 20 years ago at the first on-air reunion of the WKIX Men of Music in 1992. Nine years later, Walter Knox added the audio effects, jingles, air checks, and music and the produced audio version was broadcast for the 2nd on-air reunion of the WKIX DJs on WPTF, Raleigh in September of 2001, just days after 9/11. Now on the 20th anniversary of this tribute, we thought it appropriate to add visuals and put the piece on YouTube. If you remember the old WKIX of the 60s and 70s, we hope you will enjoy.
